Inside the Supply Chain and Purchasing Industry

Hot commodity market mirrors weather

August 3, 2012

So which supply chain ‘function’ can be more in demand than ‘Contract Administrators?’ "That’s an easy one,’ claims Tim Moore, President of Tim Moore Associates, ‘it’s "Ingredient and COMMODITY Buyers."

We have a current (URGENT) opening for an Ingredient and Commodity Buyer in the Kitchener, Cambridge, and Waterloo area for a returning client. "These Buyers are in great demand and have had a really tough time of it recently, due to the severe weather we’ve been experiencing – on a global scale,’ adds Tim. "They have to keep on top of the changing weather patterns, sources of supply, availability, and most importantly PRICES of myriad commodities which they track, including sugar (plus other sweeteners), flour, corn and other food related items. This weather has been brutal for local sources of supply, but also throughout the States AND offshore as well."

If you have experience with these commodities, please check out Job658 on our website and apply immediately! (We’re still looking for sharp Contract Administrators by the way, for clients RIGHT ACROSS CANADA, so don’t forget to register with TMA and send in your up to date resume.)

The public sector is starting to ‘kick start’ again, and we have a need for an Associate Director in the Calgary market. Bring your background in facilities, construction, renovation, bidding, tendering, and new systems and processes. Job657 is the one to apply to.

For those of you ‘out west’ (or are open to relocation), that have a STRATEGIC perspective on Transportation Services, then Job654 is for you! No, we’re not looking for a ‘pencil pusher’ or tactical professional, we need a Senior STRATEGIC transportation specialist who can bring a background in research, analysis, and design services, standards, and pricing for our client – an oil/gas and exploration POWERHOUSE.

We have two ‘international’ opportunities for a returning client out of the Buffalo, N.Y. area (90 minutes from Toronto), looking for an ERP Business Analyst with (ideally), an Oracle EBS, ERP and R 12 (or similar) perspective. LOTS of benefits and privileges offered as well, including assistance relocating and acquiring the appropriate work permit and documentation.

Two more positions have just come in for ‘the West’ as well, and one is out of Edmonton, for a Supply Chain Specialist (Job659). This is an interesting opportunity with an organization which provides services to the oil/gas and exploration communities. Experience in JD Edwards and/or similar ERP system ideal. Good bonus, group RRSP, and even a continuing education allowance.

Finally, Job656 is for manufacturer of heavy equipment in the Winnipeg market. The ideal Purchasing Manager brings a background in production, manufacturing and quality assurance, along with an ability to lead and motivate a TEAM.

Have you changed your cell (or other) contact numbers? Do you have a new e-mail address, employer, or have you upgraded your Supply Chain education? Don’t miss out on opportunities to advance your supply career…send us your UPDATED resumes and information to ‘updates@timmooreassociates.com’
