Inside the Supply Chain and Purchasing Industry

Season’s Greetings and Happy 2017

December 23, 2016

All the very best of season’s greetings from the Elves at Tim Moore Associates (TMA).

The year is closing with a “bang’ as TMA continues to post new Supply Chain opportunities on our website at www.timmooreassociates.com. Three new Supply Chain (SC) postings have gone up in the last few days and more are anticipated; with two current jobs filled before the end of the week.

“For some firms the approaching holidays are a time for slowing down while others are going at it full bore right up until the New Year and beyond,” adds Tim Moore, President of TMA. It’s fairly typical depending on the industry or particular sector you’re in, but other firms strategically want to get a head start on the New Year’s SC “talent’ competition. “We always see a big rush at the beginning of the year, as some firms have their fiscal year coincide with the calendar year, and come Jan 2nd, they all have NEW budgets and NEW requirements for SC professionals. However, there are some smart firms that are initiating their searches NOW ahead of the game to beat the rush..,” emphasizes Tim. If your firm has an upcoming need for new Supply Chain professionals – now, in January, or the next quarter for that matter, kindly contact Tim Moore Associates for a free consultation now.

New Year’s typically means new career beginnings and the best way to be prepared for whatever comes along is to update your resume with your recent achievements, new educational studies and credits, and perhaps updated contact information and send them in to TMA. (The number one, two and three areas of change tend to be: email addresses, contact phone numbers, and employers respectively). What an easy way to lose track of TMA and your pipeline of SC opportunities ! Kindly send your MS WORD formatted resumes to: updates@timmooreassociates.com along with your new salary requirements, geographic and/or sector preferences. (Don’t forget to put “destroy old copies’ in your email’s subject line and attach your MS Word formatted resume – no .pdf files please.)

For those of you that missed Tim’s Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) webinar presentations on Social media and your professional image, you’re reminded that a recent survey revealed that more employers are checking your presence on social media (such as Linkedin, Facebook, and even Twitter), BEFORE extending an offer. In fact, over a third of employers surveyed admitted to using social media sites to research potential employees… and out of those, 34% FOUND REASONS TO DECLINE hiring a candidate. Make sure your resume is properly crafted and your social media presence is professional looking too.

Tim has been busy throughout the year speaking to students attending SCMA’s In Residence Week (IRW) component toward their Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, presentations at Trios College, MicroSkills, Wilfrid Laurier University, Humber College, Schulich School of Business (to name a few), numerous webinars, and working with clients on both sides of the border and overseas too.

It has been our privilege to assist those working within the Supply Chain profession for over 20 years.

All the very best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season!

Tim.
